| Playback Basic and Advanced with Video, QnA |

16:30 Ensign Kimball: Welcome to the Wednesday Training Class.
16:30 Ensign Kimball: Today we will be discussing the PLAYBACK feature in Ensign Windows. The Play Back feature allows you to replay (on a chart) the tick by tick Trading that occurred for a symbol. Tick data for the specified symbol (on a specified day) is used to create a Play Back file. The file can then be played at anytime (just like a Tape Recorder can replay its recordings). The played file will duplicate the trading day in actual time (or up to 10 x actual speed), as if you were trading the markets in real-time. This feature is a fantastic tool that allows traders to practice their trading skills with real market data. A training video has been created that explains more about this feature.
16:32 Ensign Kimball: I will play this video at this time.

16:43 Ensign Kimball: The Advanced version of the Play Back feature allows you to specify more options, and to create your own Play Back files. There is a simpler version of Playback that can be used to. The easiest way to get started with Play Back is to use the Basic version.
16:43 Ensign Kimball: Select Set-Up | Play Back Basic from the menu.

16:44 Ensign Kimball: Select a Play Back file from the drop-down list box. Select a Play Back speed (either 2x, 4x, or 10x). Click the Play Back button to start the Play Back session. A chart will open, and the selected Play Back file day will start to update on the chart.
16:44 Ensign Kimball: What is your question Mahen ?
16:45 Mahen: I am using IB Feed. Can I have play back for DAX, QM etc.
16:46 Ensign Kimball: Any symbol that can download Tick by Tick data can be used to build your own Playback file. Ensign does not have an inventory of every symbol. We only save a handful of symbols for users to practice with.
16:46 Mahen: but does IB has that facality? Or How do I do that?
16:46 Ensign Kimball: Yes. You can download and create your own playback file.
16:47 bg: Kimball can you playback the present day or just the files you download?
16:47 Ensign Kimball: The training video that we just watch demonstrates how to build a file.
16:49 Ensign Kimball: bg...the download capability for specific symbols is usually just a few days for tick data.
16:50 bg: great thanks Kimball. Do I have to connect to IB for data feed to do a playback or can I just open Ensign windows
:54 Ensign Kimball: bg....you do not have to connect to IB - You can download Playback files from Ensign. Or, you can build some Playback files (while connected) to IB, and then play them later.
16:55 bg: cool -- many thanks
16:51 Mahen: How to create daily file for a symbol which is not Ensign inventory?
16:55 Ensign Kimball: Mahen....the Playback feature is not for Daily Charts. The playback feature plays back tick by tick for a given symbol and day.
16:55 Mahen: ok.
16:55 Ensign Kimball: However, you can download chart data for almost any symbol. Example: IBM.D will open and refresh an IBM daily chart.
16:56 Mahen: What I mean is for say 21 tick chart of DAX fro today
16:57 Ensign Kimball: Once you have created a playback file (downloaded the ticks into a playback file), then you can open any chart time frame that you want (including a 21 tick chart)
16:57 Mahen: ok.
16:58 Ensign Kimball: For example, you could view a 1-minute, a 5-minute, a 10-tick, and a 21-tick chart all at the same time. They would all be updating from the running Playback file.
16:58 Mahen: But how to create playback file, I know that in Ensign folder I have the data file.
16:58 Ensign Kimball: A chart file is different than a Playback file. If you already have a Playback file, then just load it and run it.

6:59 Ensign Kimball: Use the Advanced Playback screen to load and start the Playback.
16:59 Mahen: yes. that is the reason I want to know how to create paly back file. And in demostration you show three files for each day. So how I can create the day file for each day.
17:00 Ensign Kimball: Follow the steps on the screen above. Or, watch the training video. You will need to be connected up to your data-feed to download and build the Playback file. This was demonstrated in the video. I would suggest that you watch it one more time carefully. If you still have any questions, then let me know.
17:02 Mahen: ok. thanks
17:03 Ensign Kimball: In summary, the Playback is great for traders who want to practice their trading skills on actual data.
17:03 disciple: can more than 1 symbol be played back at once?
17:03 Ensign Kimball: No. Only 1 playback can be running at one time.
17:04 Ensign Kimball: .
17:04 Ensign Kimball: Thanks for coming to today's training class.
7:04 Ensign Kimball: If you have additional questions, you can send them to me via e-mail at Kimballh@ensignsoftware.com
17:04 @Buffy: thanks Kimball
17:04 Ensign Kimball: I have to run now. Have a nice day.
