16:30 Ensign Kimball: Welcome to the Ensign Training Class....
16:30 Ensign Kimball: Please hold questions for the next while as we discuss Ensign Toolbars and Menus. We will start today's training class by playing some training videos. If you have speakers on your computer, please turn them on.

16:39 Ensign Kimball: You can see the Toolbar with labels above

16:39 Ensign Kimball: Here is the view of toolbar buttons without the Labels.
16:40 Ensign Kimball: I will now start another training on the Toolbars. The audio will start up again.

16:44 Ensign Kimball: The screen capture above can be displayed by selecting 'Setup | Toolbars' from the menu
16:45 Ensign Kimball: This is the screen where you can customize the Toolbar settings in Ensign Windows. If there are buttons that you never use then you can HIDE them by unchecking the specific check box. If you would like LABELS under the buttons, then place a check mark next to the Toolbar in the 'Toolbar Labels' section
16:46 Ensign Kimball: To HIDE or SHOW toolbars
16:46 Ensign Kimball: Select the 'View' menu at the top of the Screen

16:48 Ensign Kimball: Place a check mark next to the Toolbars that you want to SHOW. Uncheck any Toolbars that you want to HIDE
Floating Toolbars
16:48 Ensign Kimball: You can also Drag Toolbars (Undock them) to any location on the screen. There is a Drag Control at the far left edge of each Toolbar. If you drag on this line then the whole Toolbar can be moved

16:50 Ensign Kimball: In this example, I have undocked the 'Chart Toolbar'. It is now a Floating Toolbar. If you drag the Toolbar to any of the edges, it will DOCK. You can DOCK a Toolbar on any edge of the screen. If you don't like your Toolbars at the top of the screen, then you can dock them all on the left edge.

16:52 Ensign Kimball: In this example, you can see that I have docked the 'Charts' Toolbar on the left edge of the screen. If you undock several of your Toolbars and move them around, it is possible that you will lose track of where they are at.
16:52 Ensign Kimball: If you lose a Toolbar and wonder where it went, then do the following.
16:53 Ensign Kimball: Select 'View | Dock All Toolbars' from the menu. This will force all Toolbars to DOCK
16:53 Ensign Kimball: This concludes our discussion on Toolbars today. Does anyone have a question about Toolbars. Or how to customize them.
Stack Toolbar
16:55 Ensign Kimball: One Final Tool bar is the 'Stack Toolbar'
16:55 Ensign Kimball: Select View | Stack Toolbar to display a special toolbar that allows you to control a Stack of chart windows. If several charts are stacked on top of each other, the Stack Toolbar will display all the charts in the stack.

16:56 Ensign Kimball: In the screen capture above, you can see that I have a stack of 4 different charts.
![]()
16:57 Ensign Kimball: The Stack Toolbar appears as shown above. It will display all the charts in the stack
16:58 Ensign Kimball: Click the TAB for a particular chart symbol to bring that chart to the top of the stack. For example, this toolbar feature would allow you to stack 10 chart windows on top of each other. Using the Stack Toolbar you could quickly switch any chart to the top of the stack for viewing. At the left edge of the Stack Toolbar is an = button.
16:58 Ensign Kimball: If you click this alignment button, then all the charts in the stack will be aligned in size and location to match the top chart. This will cause all the charts in the stack to perfectly fit underneath the top chart and assume the same size and location (like a deck of cards). Select View | Stack Toolbar again to hide the Stack toolbar.

16:59 Ensign Kimball: The screen capture above shows the CSCO.2 chart All the other charts are stacked under this chart. The other charts have assumed the exact same size and location of the top chart. I can use the Stack Toolbar to shuffle through my stack of Charts. The Stack Toolbar is a great feature that allows you to conserve screen space and have instant access to several of your favorite charts
17:01 Ensign Kimball: That concludes are Training Class for Today.
17:01 Ensign Kimball: You are welcome to ask any questions at this time.
17:01 vegasallen: Is there a limit as to the number of charts that the Stack Toolbar can handle?
17:01 Ensign Kimball: no
17:03 Ensign Kimball: If you would like to have additional training, I would suggest that you watch some of the Training Videos on this page.
www.ensignsoftware.com/video/videos.htm
17:03 rdk: Kimball, do you know the trick to getting a scroll wheel to scroll up and down the whole workspace after clicking the background?
17:04 Ensign Kimball: No. You must use the Scroll bar at the right edge
17:04 rdk: Others do not have to use that scroll bar though.
17:05 Ensign Kimball: I know.
17:06 rdk: That is what I would like to do, it is much more convenient than the scroll bar on the far right... I have multipl monitors and it's a ways to get to that bar. I can scroll everything else fine, Ensign just won't take the focus to the workspace, it just stays on a chart and scrolls that
17:06 ticks: rdk I think that is mouse dependant -- a feature of the mouse you are using -- mine will scroll without using the scroll bars
17:07 Ensign Kimball: If you have windows that are outside of the Ensign Windows screen boundary, then a Scoll bar will appear. My mouse wheel will not scroll this Scroll Bar.
17:08 rdk: hmm, seems you must have the problem then too Kimball, at least it is duplicable!
17:10 Ensign Kimball: Thank you for attending the class today.
17:10 @Buffy: thanks Kimball
17:10 rdk: thanks Kimball
17:10 ticks: thanks
