4:05 Slim: Jimmer......once you get a touch of the BB or KC what do you use as your trigger. Do you drop to low tick chart?
14:07 jimmer49: slim - it just varies based on what I see - sometimes is band entry, sometimes bar
14:07 jimmer49: no way to make it clearer I'm afraid
14:07 Slim: do you enter before the bars start heading up
14:08 jimmer49: one thing - not all band touches are entry points for me
14:08 jimmer49: if a band entry, yes
14:09 Slim: seems dangerous with just one touch when I've seen several touch before it turns

14:09 jimmer49: bar entry - ignored the touch altogether there
14:10 Slim: if it's based on band do you at least wait for an up bar
14:11 jimmer49: I have learned to tell pretty well when to trust the band
14:11 jimmer49: many times you can't and must wait but if I want to take the entry at the band, I don't wait for anything else
14:12 Slim: man.......that seems like trying to catch a falling knife
14:12 jimmer49: band is not my main thing for entry - stoch is
14:12 Slim: is your stoch based on close or some other data point
14:12 jimmer49: close
14:13 Slim: ok...thnx
14:13 jimmer49: I have learned pretty well how to expect the falling knives
14:13 Slim: oh ok........lol
14:13 jimmer49: the stoch tell me
14:14 Slim: based on bar closing?
14:15 @Buffy2: where they are what they are doing what zone in relationship lt to st term stoch
14:16 @Buffy2: great place to start - lots of information
14:16 Slim: thnx buffy
14:16 @Buffy2: welcome - those go back to bb's but we have a collection of comments in room
14:16 jimmer49: written years ago, and probably would be a little different now - we all evolve
14:17 @Buffy2: true jimmer but basics the same
14:17 jimmer49: switched to kelter and learned to use them because got tired of the flippy tips on bb

14:17 @Buffy2: 3 by jimmer there
14:17 Slim: I've looked at a number of Jimmer's examples but never was quite sure as to when the trade is made. The actual trigger - the setups I understand
14:19 jimmer49: I tend to trust the band entries when the entry tf and 3x htf have 30wma going same way
14:19 jimmer49: when opposite I do not as a generality
14:20 Slim: that's smart - is your stop usually at the swing low on a long or he bottom of the entry bar
14:20 jimmer49: two different ballgames entirely
14:20 jimmer49: swing low or 6 ticks
22 Slim: typically are you either all in or all out or do you rather mange trade taking some off and letting the balance run
14:22 jimmer49: half off at 1st tgt, usually 6 ticks, run with the rest if it looks like I should
14:23 Slim: ok......thnx so much for your input jimmer
14:23 jimmer49: all trades are situational and don't follow detailed rules about every little thing
19 dpg: on my 9/30 test, I only check for 9 > 30 and Close < 9 for a long

09:19 @Buffy2: along with G/R on both macds
09:19 dblue2: at a double top too
09:19 @Buffy2: tks dpg
09:19 dblue2: ;))
09:20 dpg: you think the daily is a little foreboding for a christmas rally? or is this what happens? pull it down so they can run it up?
09:20 jimmer49: same thing here on the 9/30 dpg
09:20 dpg: :-) tnx jimmer
09:22 dblue2: do you filter for slope of 30?
09:22 jimmer49: must have slope on 30 for me, or at very least flat with desired slope on htf
09:23 dblue2: thx

09:54 jimmer49: 2T are places where I try to enter within 2 ticks of swing high/low for reversal
09:54 jimmer49: sometimes no fill - sometimes the best entry possible if it is a true reversal
With CME data change
23:18 jimmer49: fwiw - if necessary I will use V167 & V500 in lieu of 100/300t on russell
23:21 jimmer49: all I did was look at volume on my current tick bars and then try to roughly guess an average, then made a chart and compared to tick
23:21 jimmer49: comparison was very close
1:13 badger: Jimmer: Question, please: what time frames do you prefer for the Russell?
11:17 jimmer49: badger - using only v charts for now - 92 and 167 for entry, 500 & 1500 for roadmap
11:17 Red: why volume and not range jimmer?
11:18 badger: thanks. yes, I find vol charts better for Russell than tick....
11:19 jimmer49: don't like range at all - could not work with it
11:19 Red: curious, Randy likes range, works well with 8ths
11:20 tiger: have you seen Randy's chart?
11:20 jimmer49: not interested
11:20 dblue2: ;)))
11:20 jimmer49: I like to stick with what I know works for me - if I do that well I will do fine
11:21 Red: that's good enough, if an indicator system talks to you, then stick with it
1:25 pavoni: you just taught me a valuable lesson jimmer, thx. I kept getting seduced by everyone elses stuff, to the point of analysis paralysis. instead of focusing on what I already know works for me
11:25 jimmer49: been there a few times too - came always back to the same conclusion
11:26 jimmer49: my bedrock are my stoch and have been for at least 3 years now
11:26 jimmer49: others have used same ones and found that they work for them also
11:27 jimmer49: bands are supplemental tool - ma's second most important to stoch for me
Dec 27 2005

15:14 jimmer49: that V92 mof short posted above had everything going for it
15:14 jimmer49: here is the V500 at same point

15:14 @Buffy2: thanks

5:23 jimmer49: long off the bottom here using 2T trick

15:26 dblue2: ABC, or perhaps more
15:26 jimmer49: looking for green bars, then place limit order one tick above the immediate swing low - with ninja trader set for one tick chase it should fill 2 ticks above the low
15:28 jimmer49: that is what the 2T on my charts is all about
:29 jimmer49: stalk that trade at points where a big turn is aniticpated based on whole picture
15:30 jimmer49: in filled, it will be a great entry point with minimum possible risk - risk is 3 ticks
15:30 jimmer49: beat that with a stick
15:32 jimmer49: the trick is in knowing when it is right to do it and not becoming obsessed with it and missing the rest of the picture - stoch tell me when
